Christmas tragedy: Man possibly drowned at Siloso
STOMPer Cherry witnessed a tragedy today (Dec 25) at Siloso beach where a young man may have drowned. Cherry says that the man was pulled out of the water and had CPR administered, but remained motionless.
She elaborates:
"A young man was pulled out of the water at Siloso beach on Christmas day.
"The young man who seemed to be in his early twenties, and a few friends were playing volley ball on the beach and later went into the sea for a swim.
"Moments later, one of the guys was seen running and shouting for help frantically.
"We then realised that someone was drowning.
"Within one minute, more than 10 lifeguards came to the rescue.
"But the victim was nowhere to be seen and they had to dive into the sea to search for the man.
"They finally found the victim around 10 minutes later and did CPR on him but his body remained motionless.
"Ambulance soon arrived to the scene and rushed the victim to the hospital.
"At the time of the accident, the beach was full of people and there were lifeguards on duty.
"It is not known how the man drowned as he did not seem to have struggled in the water and the water is quite shallow at the spot where the victim was found.
"This is a Christmas tragedy."
