Oh, they will definitely release a propaganda infographic bragging about the vouchers/rebates given to low SES Sinkies to 'cushion' the impact of the fare hikes. Stay tuned.

May all keep calm.

With the HOT debate on a family of four with less than $6,000+/month whom will not have a quality of life, HOW then can we Singaporeans as a Civilized society help all or at least the most whom are GAINFULLY employed? Our govt had attempted to recruit qualified foreign transport operators to keep transportation costs low but they are only the MINORITY. MAJORITY are fellow citizens.

It's not just the labour costs alone, but MORE so the MAINTENANCE costs to keep cheap & affordable transportation cost low, among many other factors affecting our society to save land space & productivity. Nothing is free is this World, & in order to keep it sustainable, resources HAVE TO BE SHARED, not just the ordinary citizens, but those whom have excess wealth to be REDISTRIBUTED for all sharing the same space in our land, so that all may live at least in peace if not in harmony as most are self centered.

We Singapore are a small nation & subjected to issues which we have NO control over such as the failed RUS invasion that had cause food & fuel prices to rise, as well as other selfish acts from World leaders whom have no concern about other fellow Humans, even to their own citizens. In critical moments like this, it is only by SHARING will we as a Singapore society can survive.

As transports cost rise, so too will other utilities, & EVENTUALLY, govt authorities such as MOM & the Tripartite alliance, will have to sit down discuss, debate & find solutions on how to save the critical labor that is necessary for a govt & biz entities right down to the simple hawker stall, to survive. We... are....in ...this...TOGETHER...

That's not a bad idea.
Tax the children and working-age grandchildren of the young seniors and older citizens to help the young seniors and the older citizens.
