PUB: We are "investigating" the Water Splashing Festival now

What a priceless sentence from the AG Chambers Quality Service manager:-

"...
The Attorney-General's Chambers are the legal advisers to the government and, as such, cannot provide legal advice to members of the public. ..."

LOLL !:oIo:

The government owe to its people and not the reverse.

Kojakbt many of these workers work day and nite to do jobs sinkies dun want to do..just let them have a day of fun pls check with PUB how much water bill they will be using. I will pay for their bill

People like you are the ones that create double standards.
Would you also agree that Singaporeans work very hard and then should go down to Orchard Rd and play with water guns and pistols to have fun with their children and family bonding?

If you want to talk cock go be a PAP MP, or perhaps you are already one who sneaked thru the back door GRC.

Firstly, nobody forced them to come here and work. These FTs came here to work on their own free will. Obviously, there is a huge incentives for them to come here and work despite the hardships etc. For your info, a civil servant in Myanmar only earns US$20 a month. So, no need to pity them. They are here for the money, not that I blame them.

Secondly, I'm not objecting to them celebrating their own festivals. For example, in the Chinatowns in NY, SF, Chicago etc, many chinese there celebrate CNY too on their own accord. However, the big difference is this, US Govt will not take US taxpayers money to celebrate CNY for the American Chinese living there. It's their own community doing it. But over here, BB CC is using taxpayers money thru PA to celebrate for the FTs.. u think it makes sense or not?

Kojakbt, it is a good thing that you are raising voice over this issue, and even if there is no action from the governing bodies related to this case; ministry, police, pub, at least this case is on 'file' on the internet (make sure it goes into a blog or something).

And next time double standard happens in an opposition ward and the police come and kajiao kajiao, then there is really something to talk about.

Carry on the good work!

Yes, knowing PAP, once they have made a decision, they will go ahead, no matter how wrong or how bad the ground feels. They are used to bulldozing their ways thru, cause they are so cock-sure that they can win elections everytime....

We need to show up their fallacies and hypocricies. Election is cumming... need to educate the 66.6% that PAP is not as morally "righteous" as they think...

Following yr link, I discovered this:-

"Every year, thousand of visitors across the world visit the water festivals in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos

Now for the first time, Bukit Batok grassroots organisation is bringing the...."

I remember reading a different opening sentence in an earlier version quoting the words 'The Buddhist SongKran festival .....'

I am glad someone sharp had removed the mischievous association of 'Buddhist' with this glasslooters' project.
