Maybe your friend has never come across Singaporeans who behave as though they own the country. I have seen many Singapore cars in Malaysia throwing out their rubbish out of their car windows. I sometimes rather stay away and pretend to look elsewhere when I see Singaporeans overseas for they many are badly behaved. So your friend with the red passport can be proud because he has no idea what the foreigners really think about Singaporeans. Apparently the government forgot to inculcate good manners and graciousness when making Singapore such a wonderful place. I have views from foreigners about Singaporeans and my ears practically burn with embarrassment.

They are also kings and queens of complaints when in M'sia. Food cheap, they must announce to all. Food not up to their liking, sure kpkb and compare with S'pore. Service slow, again kpkb. Strangely, this behavior almost disappears when they are in ang mo countries.

When a flash flood occurred in Orchard Road, every anti-PAP KPKB as though the whole of Singapore is flooded like Australia.

During the December monsoon season when floods occurred in so many places in neighbouring countries to the north and south, there was no flood in Singapore.

Anti-PAP fellows were silent when there was no flood. Implicitly these anti-PAP fellows are claiming that their KPKBs are good because then PAP will wake up and do a good job. Problem is they can't praise the PAP gahment for doing a good job!

So they went to sleep with their tail between the legs.

I cannot agree with you more.

Singapore is definitely on a trend of becoming another Monaco. The 2 casinos and the annual F-1 race are good indications of the trend. Also the number of Ferraris, Lambos, and chauffeur driven luxury cars on the road is another good indication.

I can envision that sometime in the future, most of our residents will be multimillionaires like in Monaco. Those who aren't will be the servants (like maids, butlers, chefs, chauffeurs, etc.) employed by the multimillionaires, or employees working in service industries serving the elites. Those who are middle income professionals will have their homes in JB but work here during the day as they will not be able to afford the Monaco Standard of Living. The elites still need the professional services of accountants, real estate agents, lawyers, doctors, dentists, etc..

The world is in desperate need of another country like Monaco and Singapore has been gradually and surely filling that need in the global marketplace.

Monaco has only 33,000 residents who can all be millionaires.
Singapore presently has about 100k people with > 1m in net assets, it is a high number that can rival many rich countries but that is still less than 2% of the population.

If policies are geared to please the 2% millionaires, PAP will have 98% unhappy population and votes will hurt.

Hence you cannot run Singapore like Monaco got it?

i agree on the point that singaporeans are badly behaved in other countries..

taking an airplane, i have seen fellow sporeans asking for wine+coke+coffee to go with their meals. i mean, the drinks trolley aren't going to disappear, no need to take so much at one go.

even lining up at the immigration counter also very funny. if they are in small group, the sporeans will dispatch all out on different queues. then, they will move to the fastest queue where they have planted their ppl.

even in foreign countries eatery, many will make lots of demands just because they think they are tourists/customers.

pls don't misunderstand me. i do not belong to tonychat/clinton666 group. just voicing my opinions.
