Link bridge is opened; shop lot under construction. Looking up I saw many vacant apartments among those that were occupied. The scale of this development together with the Opera Theatre is impressive.

The many vacant units will most probably remain vacant for a long time.
The shopping mall here and the one in Country Garden, wonder which will open earlier, but looking at the current condition, retailer occupancy rate will be low and slow.

That's provided they stage concerts that interest Singaporeans and also provided they bother to get stuck on the Causeway for hours to and from JB.
Concert usually starts about 8pm and going to JB between 5 to 8pm is absolute nightmare.

You must see if the performance is worth the sort , the kind of party and which kind of people will attend. Unfortunately, those ultra rich will not stay in johor or rather cross Johor for such performance.

If these people don't make it there, i guess others won't follow.

This yet to open so called "opera house" can only sit about 500, equivalent to a medium size cinema.
For this size, what kind of "world class" performance you think they can bring in?
So don't go imagine they are building something similar to the Sydney Opera House.

500 sitting capacity sitting opera house? What is the developer thinking? What can be done there? It's a horrible waste of place they should open a Food outlet. Afrisco dinning or pub.

Haha, Now then you know.
Actually, when travelling on the Causeway you can already see how "large" is this theatre.
Anyway, think Kreta Ayer Peoples Theatre and the kind of show normally staged there and you can probably realized "what can be done there".

With X'mas coming arriving in 2 weeks time, still don't see retailers moving in.
Seems like will not be ready for the coming CNY too.
Ditto for the Country Garden Mall in Danga Bay.
And yes, the once upon a time very busy Danga Mall is finally closed for good.
Every time a new mall opens, some older malls will be affected.
As I'd said before numerous times, JB just cannot sustain so many shopping malls.

They are sending buses from Malaysia to pick up passenger at Singapore.
Send them to Paradigm mall.

Still many vacant shop lots, no new brand names and poor location, I think
