Singaporeans were nutured over 50 years to avoid conflict of interest, keep things at arms length, maintain decorum and probity and avoid any situation that cast aspersions.

Well its coming back to bite them.

The largest group to visit the NTU Prof were PRC students who spoke Mandarin throughout. Staff at the hospital thought that Engineering classes were also offered in Mandarin.

Guess who is going to get recommendation to MIT and the opportunities that come along.

Looks like Singaporeans will either need to adopt the law of the jungle or get eaten alive in their very own jungle.[/QUOTE]

Maybe it should be put in simple layman's terms that "We all are being fucked both ways. One by the foreigners and the other by our very own Government"! Wake Up!

i tot he was describing what he saw in the hospital?

not referring to the nationality of that victim? which is so obvious that he's not PRC.

Thanks for the clarification. The point is very simple - PRC students who make up a minority in his class visited him. The term is Guanxi.

The teacher in any school in Singapore assigned to liaise with parents will tell you that PRC parents will contact you, try to form relationship, ask you to visit their place of business, go for coffee etc. Also first to ask your mobile number.

Remember it was a PRC lady who falsified her educational qualifications that forced Yong Pun How to rescind his very own guideline on sending people to prison for this and she had testimonials from the well connected.
