Internet discussion over Singapore Girl’s slippers
Compiled by IZATUN SHARI, SYLVIA LOOI and A. RAMAN

A HEATED discussion is brewing on the Internet over the dressing of Singapore Airlines stewardesses, reported China Press.

It said the media in China had started the discussion over the stewardesses wearing slippers.

A journalist, who stopped over at Singapore’s Changi Airport, stated that he was puzzled as to why the women wore slippers.

“It is inappropriate for stewardess to wear slippers,” wrote the reporter.

Besides the dressing, the reporter also compared the looks of China Airways and Singapore Airlines stewardess.

“In a nutshell, China Airways girls are prettier,” he added.

In response to the comments, a Singapore Airlines spokesman said the stewardess’s batik clothes and slippers were part of their uniform.

“The airline had been wearing the uniform for quite some time and we are happy with it,” added the spokesman.

As for the looks of Singapore Airlines stewardess, the spokesman said every individual had their own opinion.

China airlines girls also ugly and service is not good. Even those working in their trains are better looking than them. Dunno why, maybe pretty MM scared of flying........

The batik show the shape better leh I find.

When SIA started they were limited to mostly tropical routes. Their uniforms was designed by Pierre Balmain a courturier.

One has to wonder just how user friendly the kebaya is is compared to the shorter skirts seen on other airlines.

It must be hell to walk in those sandals in deep snow:D

Ask those survivals from SQ006 lor.

You know what is hell like if one need to run barefoot across burning fuel, sharp stones/metals, etc., after sandal felled off their foot under panick situation

The Chinese always like to put down Sinkies to feel better

But they know deep down that they can never obtain the same standard of living and sophistication as the Sinkies

Stupid chinaman dunno anything just shaddup. With all the flooding in singapore, slippers will be practical fashion for the next 50 years*.

*actually means next week

Frankly a pretty stewardess is a bonus but I would take good service anytime. PRC service still *ahem.

Sandals are not even alllowed in many electronic factories because of the potential hazards of injury to the feet.

But I guess back in the 60's when SIA was born they were trying to sell sex :)

Use Your Brain lah. The tread must intentionally started so that the batik which reflect more of a Malay or Indonesian trademark could have a good reason to be changed to some cheongsam design with some dragon embroidery to reflect that Singapore is now a Chinese state. Why the hell SIA needs to be involved int his petty discussion? Later they will tell you the Mali kita also sound weird and does not make sense to the Ah Tiongs. Gundu
