Those with young boys will leave soon?

A Caucasian Permanent Resident of Singapore Cherie Ball has written to TODAY Voices asking why second generation PRs are required to serve National Service when they have already contributed ‘significantly’ to Singapore.

Under the present laws, new citizens and first-generation PRs need not serve NS, but their children born in Singapore are required to do so.

Cherie argued that the value of Singapore PR has ‘diminished’ over the years its benefits being ‘watered down’:

“In recent years, benefits given to Singapore PRs have been so watered down that being a PR is not that much different than being a Personal Employment Pass holder — apart from the right to live and work freely in Singapore and some hospital subsidies.”

She went on to ask:

“Why should a second generation PR, who holds citizenship in another country, be required to serve NS to “give back” to Singapore, when they typically belong to a family of PRs who already contribute significantly to the country’s economy?”

A recent survey conducted by the Institute of Policy Studies revealed that the majority of Singaporeans listed National Service as an indicator of social integration by immigrants.

All Singapore born men have to serve compulsory NS for two years followed by many more years of reservist which put them at an disadvantage in the job market compared to foreigners who do not have such liabilities.

Buay song can always FO.

This tells you that this govt has created such an impression that these people actually perceive that they and not Singaporeans contribute significantly to the country.

Many are here because the there are no decent labour laws, no min wage and they can fire at will etc.

lianbeng's neighbour PR holder from Malaysia said that once his son finished university in singapore, he will renounce that boy's singapore citizenship and go back to Malaysia.:Dgood idea leh!

It's really mind boggling that the govt, themselves Singaporeans, can reach out to the rest of the world and spread the word that the country is full of morons who are in dire need of foreign assistance without which the country is doomed. It speaks volumes about how little regard the PAP has for its own citizens.... the very people who put them in a position of leadership.

Foreigners sincerely believe that contributing their perceived talent for a few years actually contributes more to the country than a lifetime of toil by an average Singaporean.

It's a real tragedy in the making. Something has to snap soon.

Policy screw up and too much ass kissing these FT/PRs.

Imo, we are already attracting new shitizens with the wrong motivations for being citizens.....because of policies. New shitizens needs integration program to better understand sinkie local culture and way of life. To begin with, if thet don't understand, why the fuck takeup shitizenship and subsequently tell people not to coook curry:confused::*:

This foreign slag obviously doesn't get it. Many 2nd generation PRs are still schooling when their parents apply for PR. What do THEY contribute to the economy??

Cherie Ball - If you expect your son to enjoy the benefits and privileges of PR then get your son to do the necessary NS obligations.
Otherwise, just fuck off.

She's claming that the 2nd generation PRs should "benefit vicariously" from their parents' "significant contributions" to Singapore.

2nd generation can choose to siam NS.
If parent dont want their child to serve NS then dont apply PR for their child. Blame their PR parent apply PR for them. They should go back to their own country and then give birth to the child register the child as their birth place nationality(eg. China/Malaysia/USA.............). Bring back the child as FT and should be able to siam NS.
Then they will not able to enjoy any subsidy for school/medical/.................will like any other FT come here to study.
Then is fair.
But later 2nd PR gen and their parent KPKB not fair not subsidy/expensive la.....................
KNN fuck them upside down.

Why do they keep mentioning that they pay taxes too as though they don't have to pay taxes in their home country or any other foreign country.

Paying the same or more taxes than the locals does not equate to more rights and benefits over the country's citizens.

Is this why you gave up on that Aston Martin here and opted for the Kiwi bike with no seat :D

In fact, they pay lower taxes here as compared to where they came from - esp the yanks who're now running road to other countries to escape uncle sam. They want the best of both worlds.

Hey PR, if you don't like it, leave. Want to rip but leave all the sowing to sinkie? You smart we also not stupid.
