February 16th, 2012
I tried to call Singapore post hotline today. It seems that I need to wait for nearly 30 mins before I was entertained by a Filipino who speaks in an accent that I can barely understand.
My questions are:
1) What qualifications were they being hired on?
2) Did they pass their language test before they start on the job? They do not seem to understand what I am asking, but merely repeating what is written on the screen. It is as though I am talking to a robot.
3) What if someone who cannot speak English were to call them? I ask if there is anyone who can speak Mandarin and they say no.
Can Singapore post please reply – How many percentage of Filipino compared to local did you hire for the job?
I look at this link: http://www.singpost.com/customer-care.html
I guess the customer service was completely outsourced to Filipinos.
Disgusting!
