Thought that it was real good value, decide to head down there with my family on Friday evening. Boy, were we disappointed!
There is no cereal prawns, pomfret or braised duck. They only offered lots of cheap stuff like ikan bilis, tofu, vege, eggs etc. When the porridge runs out, they substituted it with rice. A very disappointing dinner for all of us.
Just want to share with you guys.

Normal outside stall is charging around $3-4 for 2,3 dishes. $10.80 buffet say you eat 5-6 dishes worth it already. Some more with aircon throw in.

had been there 2 months ago, sure there was cereal prawn and braised duck but no pomfret. drinks and ice cream also free flow so the price quite reasonable.

But my favourite is still Ah Seng Teochew Porridge at kovan shopping centre located at the 5 mile point of the Upper Serangoon Road, intercept by Yio Chu Kang Road. Last time inside the Lim Tua Dao(spelling??) Market. Had been around even b4 i was born, moved a few time b4 coming to its current location.

Actually for $10.80, I can go many other places and eat till my belt burst and I don't even need to pay $10.80 that much for teochew supper. How much can one eat for supper anyway.

After adding in GST and services charge, the amount is not just $10.80.

From a reviewer:

For the porridge, you can choose either plain porridge or porridge with sweet potatoes added. They also serve rice and fried noodles (either bee hoon, kway teow or mee tai mak).

For the dishes to go with the porridge, they have more than 10 varieties for you to choose from.

For the main dishes, I like their fried fish, steam sotong and braised duck. See if you get to eat them during your visit. There are always some new dishes served. So you may not get to eat the same dishes at each visit.

The buffet also include free flow of ice-cream, fruits, orange juice and chinese tea.

Cook porridge at home, open 1 can peanut and tau joo(femented bean curd) put some soya sauce and pepper and you have a wonder meal.
I remember when i was young, very poor . Once a week got chance to eat laksa from laksa hawker. I would bring my own bowl , the laksa cost a princely sum of 10cents. I save the gravy and during lunch time just add porridge into the gravy. It was heavenly.

Only CASE members can make a complaint with CASE.

After paying the membership maybe they will actually look into ta complaint, but has anyone heard of any success stories by CASE?
