<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->PASIR Ris Polyclinic has introduced a new rule, and everyone who wants to consult a doctor must now make an appointment via the hotline. This rule has been implemented on weekends, but is now extended to weekdays.
This is unfair to working adults. First, how do we know we will fall sick? If we fall sick on a Sunday night, and the polyclinic operates only during normal office hours, how can we make an appointment? The appointment system is suitable only for those with long-term illnesses.
Furthermore, there is only one hotline. If the polyclinic wants us to call, it should have several lines and a group of operators, like what Changi General Hospital has.
I fell sick one Saturday morning and called the polyclinic but the hotline was busy. I rushed there but was told the quota was full.
