Serious Poly grad unable to find full time employment, ends up working as part time cashier

Re: Poly grad unable to find full time employment, ends up working as part time cashi

I think he is a PAP apologist, don't
bother with him.

Yeah seems to be. Young people are cursed to be born into this fucked up situation now. To take this crap from the apologists is just too much. When you sell any flat you are taking money from our children. Because that's how much they will have to pay for one. I expect more to migrate not less

Poly Grads are facing declining real salaries and greater difficulty finding employment

The job landscape is looking worse for polytechnic graduates.

Median salaries have remained stagnant and employment opportunities are also weakening, the latest Graduate Employment Survey released yesterday revealed.

Last year, median gross salary did not change at all. Median gross salaries remained at only $2,000 per month, and this is similar to what polytechnic graduates were earning in 2013.

In 2012, median gross salary was $1,950.

Prior to that, the median gross salary remained stagnant for several years as well. In 2008, it was $1,854 but by 2011, it actually dropped to $1,850.

Since inflation has been increasing faster than nominal salaries, this means that the real median gross salaries of polytechnic graduates have actually been declining.

Core inflation is expected to increase by 2 to 2.5 percent this year whereas it was 1.7 percent in 2013 and 2.5 percent in 2012.

Thus not only does this mean that actual salaries of polytechnic graduates have remained stagnant, their real wages have fared even worse as they have indeed fell.

It is therefore obvious that Singaporean polytechnic graduates are finding it harder to survive on their meagre salaries.

Professor Tommy Koh recently revealed that one-third of students in Singapore go to school with no pocket money to buy lunch.

this is communism, you dumbass. U are stupid to notice it.
The state owns almost all the land in the country
The state builds housing and houses almost all the population in it
The state owns almost every major business and employer in the country
Most of the population are directly or indirectly working for the state
The state controls all the media and censors the news
The state holds big propaganda events like the NDP
The state tells you what to do, what to think and whacks you if you don't conform.
The leaders of the state are all from the same family or related to the same family.
The same party and same family has been in control for 50 years.

If this is not communism then what is?

in communism housing and healthcare is free and every citizen has a right to healthcare,is housing and healthcare free in singapore?

80 percent of the housing is public, that is more of a factor of land mass and environment than of ideology,u always have the option of living on private property and land if u can afford it......yes majority of the housing is build and owned by the government but their prices are determined by free market, which means u can buy a flat or relinquish one on the market at fair market value.all profit and proceeds goes into ur pockets not the government's.in communism no such thing, everything belongs to the state.in singapore regardless whether its a lease or what,u still own that lease,u are allowed to own property, companies, private equity, businesses and what not.no such thing in communist

in communist states food and daily necessities are usually rationed by the state,in capitalist economis u can buy what u want and shop what u want as long as you have the money

wrong most of the population in singapore do not work for the state, glcs and civil service forms up 20 to 30 percent of the economy at most.theres 2 million fts and most of them work for MNCs,singapore's economy has always been reliant on foreign companies since the beginning.attracting foreign companies and making sure as many jobs and positions are created and filled up by the foreign workforce is the only way to ensure the gdp and tax revenues grow.a economy comprising solely of the public sector and civil service would simply collapse, since they are cost centers and leech on the main economy.

singapore has zero capital gains tax, zero estate tax, very low income tax and very low corporate tax, such a system is designed to benefit the rich capitalists and is the antithesis of socialism which is a precursor to communism.
