GEORGE TOWN: A leader of a political party here found his car splashed with red paint with a death threat placed on its bonnet warning him not to go against the state government.
Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) Youth chief Liew Yeow Hooi said he found the bonnet of his BMW parked outside his house at Reservoir Garden, Air Itam, vandalised at 7.50am yesterday.
He said the note in Bahasa Malaysia had a message which loosely translated as: “Last warning. Do not go against the state government. If not, we will kill you and your family. This is only a lesson.”
Liew said he had wanted to submit a memorandum to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at his house with over 30 traders on Dec 26 in protest over the planned water supply disruption on Dec 28.
“I am disappointed. This is an uncivilised act,” he said at his house here yesterday. Also present was PCM vice-president Huan Cheng Guan.
Liew said he had yet to lodge a police report, adding that he would discuss with party leaders before deciding on the next move.
“I now fear for the safety of my family, especially my four-year-old daughter. I will now submit the memorandum to the Chief Minister via post instead,” he said.
