POLICE have arrested another three male suspects, aged between 19 and 49 years old, in connection with the two cases of armed rioting which occurred at Bukit Panjang on Monday.

The latest arrests, which took place yesterday, included the driver of the getaway vehicle and two key suspects who had played an active role in the attacks.

Thirteen knives that were believed to have been used during the attacks were also recovered.

Since the incident took place, a total of 15 suspects have been arrested.

Samurai swords are very expensive and not easily available in Singapore even if you have the money. Anyway, lucky they didn't have the real triad fighter's parang. It was actually a local Malay "tool" for clearing lalang and bushes. The earlier triads and gangs loved it. Arms, legs and heads could be severed in one fell swoop if sharpened meticulously and wielded by a proficient fighter. I don't think it's in production now. Look at the curvatures of the handle and the blade and you can imagine the effect if used as a weapon against a human instead of a tool on overgrown wild vegetation.

Beautiful blade, this tool is tip heavy, if the guy swings it at the target, hopefully he hits it spot on or else it will not be easy to wiled this tool, technically speaking.

katana ( Samurai swords ) too long and heavy ..how to bring out ?

Try this one, the Malay keris sword as repopularised by Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein at UMNO General Assembly 2006 (then Malaysian Education Minister, now Home Minister). Call your Malaysian friends to find out where and how to order.

wahlaneh...
a common tool becomes a weapon when it is used to fight.
wongfeihong's favourite weapon was only a common umbrella.:D
bruce lee used a twig from a tree branch as a fencing sword in game of death.

A 24-YEAR-OLD man was found guilty on Friday of murdering his 18-year-old girlfriend in Ang Mo Kio more than two years ago.

Friends and family of Pathip Selvan Sugumaran who packed the courtroom cried as the High Court passed the mandatory death sentence on him for the murder of Miss Jeevitha Panippan.

Miss Jeevitha, whose body was found sprawled behind an electrical substation in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, suffered 15 external injuries, three of them fatal wounds that had cut into cartilage and bone.

Earlier that day, Pathip, who is known to family and friends as 'Marsiling Baby', had bought a kitchen knife with a 16-cm blade. He did not dispute that he killed the teenager on the night of July 7, 2008.

But he claimed that had been provoked by Miss Jeevitha who had taunted him by saying her new beau was better in bed than he was. He said his mind was blank when he blindly stabbed Miss Jeevitha.

His lawyer, Mr Subhas Anandan, also argued that since he was a child, Pathip has attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, a condition associated with impulsivity and rage, and that the abnormal mental state reduced his responsibility for the killing.

Actually, that's the main purpose of the tip being heavy as it maximises the damage whichever part is hacked at, embedding itself in the wound/bone.
Try it on a coconut. The kukri works on the same principle except that it has a sharp edge for stabbing:eek:

The parangs look very new.....

Very soon, you buy parang, must produce IC, shop keeper must keep record, keep inventory recors also. More than 1 parang to be purchased must get police permit & reason for purchase.

Those under 21, will not be allowed to buy...;)

Lucky the local sam seng only play with parangs. Remember a few years back when I took a holiday to the US and was watching their local news and what a surprise I got. The news showed what weapons the cops raided in a viet gang warehouse. Would u believe me they even got a WW2 bazooka.

police has been lenient to these gangs and hope now they are sending the loud and clear messages to these people.

Given publicity I think 369 gang is finished.

After all very bad for PR. We have spent billions with casinos, F1, billions $ skyline to attract HNW. This gang violence is bad for business.

I think gang 999 is out to crush gang 369.

These gangs are scattered all over the island had been around for so many decades, if they could be crushed it would have happen long ago.

With the heat on, they'll just lay low and resurface once the beach is clear. It's a social illness, the law alone cannot handle that, dont give the poodles too much credit.

we chinese also have our best big knife troops which the japanese best troops also feared most!!! the 大刀队!!!
大刀队 belong to the 中华民国,not 中华人民共匪国!!!
