PMD a critical pillar for real Social Mobility in Singapore.

Social: people learn to share paths and discard their money face, anti-social mentality that pay road tax means right to speed and drive dangerously on roads. The low weight of PMD/ bicycles means that their carbon output is exceptionally low and thus do not damage the environment as much as buses/ motor vehicles. More car park spaces can also be repurposed as community spaces like parks, gardens and other recreation areas to achieve Singapore's city in a garden aspirations. Less stress from fighting traffic gridlock, over limited car parking spaces, injuries from speeding related traffic accidents etc means less stressful and more productive social interactions e.g. between neighbors, with tourists etc. More people being able to commute on PMD also means that Singapore society will be more resilient to terrorist attacks because everyone can still get around even if the MRT system is bombed. In fact, if MRT system is bombed or petrol prices sky rocket, then maybe LTA will have to ban all private vehicles from using roads and only allow PMDs to travel because only PMDs can transport large volumes of people to their destination withouts much hassle nor power consumption. PMD users are also healthier and less antisocial because they are conscious about keeping fit and also not excessively polluting the surrounding environment.

Mobility: PMD are mobility devices and allow for everyone to feel free to travel for work, play/ even as tourists etc without excessive worry about costs or traffic gridlock.

Maybe soon, PMD will replace buses just like the handphone replaced public phones. Previously, all car-parks, buildings, army camps will have at least a public 10¢ pay phone installed by Singtel. Nowadays, there is no need to provide these public pay phones because practically everybody carries a handphone.

What nonsense this infographic the bikes and escooters can be everywhere. Can make one and share the footpath with a cement mixer?

if have special lane for PMD, must have Coe and erp on pmd. Else government earn what?

Motor car is considered additional baggage above limit, so must pay high surcharge for use and also parking. HDB parking will be charged based upon distance from MRT (HDB near MRT stations will have the highest parking fees).

Government can also save $$$ on bus contracting model because people won't complain about irregular bus services and overcrowding because people can either walk or use PMD to get to MRT.

Income taxes from individuals and corporate will increase because Singapore economy will grow with more social interactions. Singapore exports will improve in value because more human interactions will produce better and more innovative goods. Healthcare costs will fall with a living environment less polluted by motorcars etc. Tourism will improve with tourists flocking to Singapore to enjoy and learn about the city in a garden concept of health and rejuvination.

Even the terrorist will AVOID targeting Singaporeans because they know that using PMDs, Singaporeans will be immune to MRT breakdowns because the distance range of e-scooters is at least 40km, definitely enough to get to work/ run errands. More people commuting on foot means that terrorist are more easily caught because then, the terrorist is more easily spotted. Reserved 24 hours bus/ PMD lanes means that police and emergency services can more easily access terror attack locations unlike in the Singapore of today (Little India riots where police were held up by traffic gridlock).

Special lanes for PMD is thus expected to be a nett positive contribution to the Singapore economy and government fiscal position and be a great plus for Singapore in the long run.

As reference, the following chart shows that for all air travellers, there is a luggage weight limit, in excess of which, between USD$10-70 is charged per kg over the weight allowance. LTA should likewise tax motorist road tax based upon the weight of their machines:

PMD make people lazy and fat.
Got good legs don't walk, more unhealthy people will drive medical cost higher

On the contrary, PMD will make people self-confident, independent and healthy.

Firstly, car-lite means no need to be chained to debt of car loan etc. No need to drive dangerously, break traffic rules just to save a few minutes travel time to earn more $$$ which is actually a vicious cycle since car accidents are a primary cause of traffic jams and thus owning a car and driving to work in high population Singapore only increases blood pressure (unless work is as professional driver or at odd hours).

People used to using e-scooters should easily be able to convert to bicycle and vice versa rather than to drive themselves around unnecessarily just to make full use of the COE investment which is also anti-social in so far as it causes global warming and adds to PM2.5 air pollution.

PMD users are also more exposed and thus attuned to the weather elements. This makes them more healthy in general since one has to keep fit in order to be able to endure adverse weather conditions. PMD users also become more considerate and conscious about environmental issues as a consequence.

It is thus much more likely for the car driver (owner) to have a higher blood pressure and also sedentary lifestyle and thus also higher hospital costs as a consequence.
