It's not just the baby problem he can't solve. He is not able to solve all other problems as well eg housing, transport, medical, foreign workers and inadequate infrastructures. He may just be admitting to this one to pacify the people such that they will not hound him for all the other mistakes his father the Old Fart had made. Nice try, but we are not stupid. The only solution to all these problems is to vote the PAP out in 2016.

low fertility rate is an unsolvable issue plaguing far eastern asian cities. japan's numbers at 1.39 (cia and world bank), 1.27 (u.n.) are skewed as an average because if you count only tokyo and osaka, the rate is even lower, on par with macau, hk and sg. south korea's numbers at 1.21 (u.n.), 1.22 (world bank), 1.24 (cia) are also skewed because if you only count seoul, the rate is also on par with macau, hk and sg. china, which has high income inequality, hovers around 1.55. it's also skewed because poorer folks in the rural areas are having more children than those in the cities. it clearly shows a pattern of women in packed far eastern asian cities having less babies. men and women in these cities are working harder and fucking harder, but do not want to be bogged down by family and raising children. in other words, cheap and cheat sex is everywhere and contraception and birth control are rampant. it's fucking good to live in an asian city.
