PM Lawrence Wong on steering Singapore through global change

Hive mindset will constraint the way we brainstorm and figure a way out of current situation
Policymakers must have a true feel of the ground and do not take their fellow citizens for granted. Our leaders may continue to lose the support of millennial and early Gen Z voters who expect both accountability and a say in policies that affect their lives.

You've had two decades of Pinky and his two predecessors before that. Making generic motherhood statements, and strawman arguments, is their bread and butter.
In this regard, the future of S'pore may be brighter if our Fourth Generation leaders introduce daring and innovative plans. A departure from mere modifications to the 60-year-old strategies of our Founding Fathers is of paramount importance. The problem may be rooted in the lack of diversified thinking among policymakers, as well as the natural aversion to fear and uncertainty. The fear of losing their million dollar wages makes these ministers mere followers, but NOT leaders.

I don't care what they say or do on this shitty snot-sized island.

As long as they do not disavow the WEF, you can bet your life savings that they are working against the interest of the people.

He knew exactly what he was doing. He steered SG to where we are now. He too gerrymandered and removed ministers who resisted his effort at increasing costs for citizens.
All in all he led Singapore to prosperity but set up the groundwork for it's eventual slide. There can be no other trajectory.
Until Basel 3.0 turned the table

This type of policymaker is Legendary Lee Ah Gong level 万中无一

Our ministers create policies that benefit themselves and their loved ones. That is why there is a real disconnect with the masses, and I am not just referring to the HDB hoi polloi.

First of all, they have to free themselves from those old school rules and be dynamic
The problem may be rooted in the lack of diversified thinking among policymakers, as well as the natural aversion to fear and uncertainty. Without policymakers drawn from the private sector, we may not see consistent rejuvenation and fresh ideas in local politics in the foreseeable future. I doubt that the new PAP candidates will see even their fresh ideas come to fruition, because those who disagree with the dominant interests of the older ministers will be quickly marginalised.
