First and foremost, it is the duty and responsibility of any Cabinet Member, MPs or Head of Departments who travelled overseas at the public's expense to let the public know about the purpose of that visit and the results achieved from such visit. The cost of that trip should also be made public.
That is ACCOUNTABILITY.....
On their return, they should facilitate the formation of Quality Control Circles (QCCs) or Work Improvement Teams (WITs) and brainstorm on the ideas they received. It should be a live presentation on National TV
The MPs should also become the QCC or WITs Leaders with the Cabinet Ministers acting as Facilitators.
The aim of live presentation is to keep the citizenry informed about the achievements and benefits derived (both tangible and intangible).
Leading such teams and making live presentations on TV would also broaden the knowledge of the MPs and the people will be able to gauge their intelligence and capabilities.
Is this asking too much from a bunch of people who are paid World's highest salaries.
What is being done now is absolutely wrong and irresponsible.
Had this practice been followed, the Palmergate Incident could have been averted.
How these people work, will also become a sort of measure for their eventual promotion as Ministers of State, etc...
Governing is a serious matter and not a kiddy game of masak masak or hantam bola.
