SINGAPORE - Train services have resumed between the Bishan and Toa Payoh MRT stations on the North-South Line after delays caused by a platform screen door at Braddell station falling onto the north-bound track, said SMRT on April 16.

Free bus services between the two stations have also ceased.

The train operator had earlier advised commuters to add 15 minutes to travel times between the two stations in the direction of Jurong East.

Train services resumed at around 12.30pm, more than an hour after the screen door fell at 11.15am.

When The Straits Times arrived at Braddell station at about 12.45pm, several SMRT staff were seen gathered at the train platform.

Workers were seen moving the broken screen door away on a trolley.

The door affected was the third one from the back on the north-bound platform.

The affected platform had earlier been cordoned off as a safety precaution.

SMRT has confirmed that there is no report of any injury.

Traction power had been turned off to facilitate recovery efforts, added SMRT in a social media post at 12.23pm.

Travellers commenting on SMRT’s Facebook page said trains they were riding southwards went back in the opposite direction when approaching Bishan.

This is what happened when PAP rule Singapore for 60 years Everything is going thru the motion.

KNN This incident don't know will cause some little bit drop in %.
Maybe Chee Hong Tat will now form a task force to inspect all MRT doors. Their fave now is forming task forces and not solving the root of the problem.

They better not increase the fares again soon, because more doors will fall down.

A fare increase is needed immediately in order to prevent more doors from falling off.

And GST needs to be increased further in order to help the poor.

Then they should also increase the pay of Chee Hong for doing such an outstanding job as transport minister.
