PLA Army Officer Arrested at LA Airport in US Carrying Stolen Technology

Totalitarian shitholes cannot have creativity and innovation. Their main engines of economic growth are infrastructure spending, land sales, real estate development, and manufacturing sweatshops if the cost of labour is low enough.

Look at Taiwan's TSMC and South Korea's Samsung. Without those two companies, a huge part of today's technology would grind to a halt. Huawei is irrelevant.

It's amazing what TSMC has been able to achieve. It was started in 1987, the same year that Chartered Semiconductor began in Singapore. The latter is long gone...

Samsung semiconductor success is probably less amazing since it is part of a chaebol with strong government support.

You cannot expect innovation in a dictatorship. Even if you are innovative, the fucking gahmen will steal your technology and sue you in return.

Remember this case ?

Oh yes, now I remember. If PAP serious about entrepreneurship, they have to dismantle all the SOEs. Chance of this is like zero. Singaporeans are so cowed and timid now. All our kids dream about is working for and MNC, working for a useless government org., etc. Never about trying to start anything other than a kueh-kueh stall, hawker stall, etc. Of course our economy is small so it is hard to grow before needing to expand overseas, which is a huge step up in complexity. This is where the government can help, but does not. Our children have a bleak future.

We need to get the PAP to do something about those SOEs a big threat to everyone. And they make nothing but shit too

China is not your friend

fark lah... I read this story want to throw up in disgust. Some more one of the directors of IPOS some more. If he can have his IP stolen from him, what chance does anybody else have?

Must be a scholar general idea. Parasite.

hmmm.... looks like I might have to revise my opinion on how similar Singapore gahmen is to CCP.

Actually no need to dismantle. Fair and level playing field will be just fine. It works quite well in countries with robust checks on government abuse such as an independent press and an unbiased judiciary. If you dismantle SOE with nothing to replace them, lagi jia lat in the short term. And if the government continues to be as abusive without even SOEs keeping people employed, it will be a bigger long term issue.

Reading that case brings back memories from good old PAP playbook. Sue until you can't afford to defend anymore.

Confucius Institute is still open in Sinkieland, no thanks to Lee Hsien Loong.

what kind of mortars are those?
A failed to fire mortar. Its already armed and ready to explode.
I saw one where it failed to even fire. The chief put his hand in it and pull that live round out. If it suddenly shoots, his hand is a goner. They were testing mortars from germany.
