SINGAPORE - A 14-year-old girl and her grandfather, 84, were found dead at two locations in Bukit Batok on Thursday evening (June 23), said the police on Saturday (June 25).

The girl was found lying motionless at the foot of a housing block in Bukit Batok West Avenue 6 and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The police said they were alerted at 5.50pm on Thursday and no foul play was suspected.

Moments later, at 5.55pm, the police were alerted to another case of unnatural death at a flat in Bukit Batok Street 31.

It is about 2km away from where the teenager was found.

A man, 84, was found lying motionless with chest wounds, said the police.

Paramedics pronounced him dead there.

The police said in a statement: "The female teenager is the granddaughter of the 84-year-old man and both resided in the same unit.

"The police are investigating if the two cases are linked."

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said they received a call for help at Block 115 Bukit Batok West Avenue 6 at 5.55pm and Block 363 Bukit Batok Street 31 at 6pm on Thursday.

A resident at Block 363 told Lianhe Zaobao newspaper the girl was a Secondary 2 student who lived with her parents and grandfather.

Neighbours said the man had an operation on his leg earlier and walked with the aid of crutches, Zaobao reported.

Police investigations into both cases are ongoing.

A 14-year-old girl and her 84-year-old grandfather were found dead at two separate locations in Bukit Batok on Thursday (Jun. 23) evening.

Both resided together in the same unit.

According to The Straits Times (ST), the teenager was found lying motionless at the foot of Block 115 Bukit Batok West Avenue 6.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and no foul play was suspected.

About 2km away at Block 363 Bukit Batok Street 31, her grandfather was found motionless with chest wounds; he too was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

Police told ST that they were alerted to the girl's body at 5:50pm and the grandfather's at 5:55pm.

They are investigating if the two cases are linked.

A neighbour told Lianhe Zaobao that she did not suspect anything to be amiss until hearing the sounds of emergency services arriving in the area.

She described the grandfather as friendly.

Though he walked with the aid of crutches after an operation, the man would go to a nearby coffeeshop daily.

The elderly man found dead in a flat in Bukit Batok is understood to be a Mr Teo Ah Nee. His 14-year-old granddaughter who lived in the same unit was found dead at the foot of another block about 2km away.

............A resident in his 70s who lives a floor below described Mr Teo as a friendly man who greeted him each time they met in the lift.

He said Mr Teo had an operation on his leg and walked with the aid of crutches.

Another neighbour, who gave her name only as Madam Tan, said Mr Teo was a happy man who was very independent.

The housewife, 50, said: "He liked to go out by himself and he was usually well dressed, in a collared shirt."

At Block 115, residents who witnessed the girl's fall on Thursday said her body landed on a grass patch beside the 25-storey building.

It was likely a murder + suicide, not double suicide. The old fart probably threw the girl from the building, and then committed seppuku.
As likely as girl killing her ailing granddad before jumping to her deaf.
