Pinoy: S'PORE BANKS & SERVICES SHOULD CREATE FOREIGNER-ONLY QUEUES

A foreigner has written in to complain about the lack of a foreigners-only queue at a local Singapore bank. The foreigner had tried to remit money to his family in Manila but ended up being unable to do so because of the long queue. He demands that the Singapore government open a separate queuing system for foreigners at major banks and other companies so as to cater to the large foreign population in Singapore. According to the reader, Singapore must allow foreigners in for its survival and so these foreigners should be treated better.

I wonder what our local human rights activists like Jolovan Wham, Kirsten Han, Shelley Thio, Vincent Wijeysingha, etc, have to say about such a letter.They have always cautioned Singaporeans from adopting a "them versus us" mentality toward foreigners. They have collectively denounced the policies that foreigners pay higher school fees or pay more taxes, saying that these policies create a division that makes foreigners feel alienated.

Now that a foreigner has suggested a foreigner-only queue what next? Foreigner only toilets? Foreigner only train carriages? What do our local activists haver say? Are they going to tell this foreigner not to develop a "them versus us" mentality?

There should be a huge sign saying remittance services are shut at 3pm. Why is it so, I dunno. Normally, banks should be open from 9-5 for all services. And there should be 24 hour banking counter for emergencies at certain branches.

Then learn how to work within thenoperating timing. And i cannot see why someone will need 24hours banking service. There are already atm machines for the basic needs. Good thing no 24 hours bank, if not losses at casino will be higher

I took a number (9115) to remit money to Manila for my family to have a good Christmas at 1pm ... it came to my turn nearly 4pm. I was then told they were unable to do any transfers because it was after 3pm. Well, it was not my fault as I had come early

agreed,government keep harping on us not to be xenophobic and integrate,integrate my ass!!!now these foreigners want to segregate the locals from the higher caste foreigners,they want to subjugate us like apartheid africa and america,first foreigner only private banking,then foreigner only washrooms and foreigner only buses and trains,soon foreigner and sinkie entrances and exits from restaurants.they want to lord over us like the british and the whites during the 19th and 20th century.soon there will be signs saying no sinkies and dogs allowed and sinkies will realise their folly by then.
