As a U.S. plane carrying Nancy Pelosi and other members of Congress landed in Taipei on Tuesday night local time, Nicholas Burns, the top American envoy in Beijing, received a late-night summons followed by a dressing-down from a senior Chinese diplomat over Washington's failure to block the House speaker's plans.

Xie Feng, a vice foreign minister in Beijing, called in Ambassador Burns and "lodged stern representations and strong protests" over Pelosi's visit to the democratically governed island, China's official news service Xinhua said on Wednesday.

China views Taiwan as its own territory, but exercises no jurisdiction over the island or its people, who largely welcomed the California Democrat's stopover, making her the first serving speaker to set foot in Taipei in 25 years. Pelosi is a long-time critic of Beijing's human rights record, and said during an audience with President Tsai Ing-wen that "America made a bedrock promise to always stand with Taiwan."

What Mdm Pelosi said was not necessarily true, perhaps too caught up with the theatrics of politics to support those whom she presumed, rightly or wrongly, placed her on power.

There were men in power whom had visited & supported Taiwan's independence for decades, but NONE, was in the pedigree of the great Mdm Pelosi. Today, as the Speaker of the House, she holds the important position of being the 3rd in line to inherit the 'Constitutional Monarchy' of USA, an unused & foreign term in democracy, but still, for better understanding for others, someone who will have to lead if both the President & the Vice President became incapable.

PrezBiden may seem to be in the best of health, but if he becomes incapacitated, & the Vice Prez whom may not be as popular as some presumed & disputes abound, then Speaker of the House will lead the American People & its allies.

Some may dispute her presence in Taiwan, but many more whom are intelligent enough to discern facts, will realize the HISTORICAL significance of her deed - She, or those whom sent her, BROKE & illuminated the MYTH of China's superiority & bullying, which China had for years using cheque-book diplomacy & threats, to win small, frightened or greedy nations to its will & backing. But sadly by her petty domestic concerns, she may not even realize such significance...but not those who know, had acted to save Humanity, & are watching...
