Singapore's latest Influenza A (H1N1) case - the 15th - is a 39-year-old Indonesian woman who had not been abroad recently. Her niece, the 11th H1N1 case here, returned from New York last Monday.
The woman had accompanied her niece to the doctor last Tuesday when the niece developed flu symptoms. Three of the woman's household members are now on home quarantine.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) also said last night that it had tracked down 18 passengers who shared the same flight as the 13th case, a 23-year-old Singaporean man who travelled to Melbourne and back. All 18 have been put under home quarantine.
There will be no contact tracing follow-up for the Singapore Airlines stewardess, the 14th case here, as she developed symptoms more than 24 hours after the flight.
As for the 12th patient, an 18-year-old male who had travelled by MRT to see a doctor, MOH said there was no need for alarm as the train ride from Serangoon to Kovan lasted two minutes, and there was limited exposure to other people.
