While the next GE may/may not be imminent, it'd be fun to to speculate PAP's GE tactics, and let's see which speculations are correct when it finally happens. Tactics may cover anything from deployment of MPs, to gerrymanderring of boundaries, and psychological plays.

We also have to see if Arse Loong will keep to his word to reduce GRC sizes.

Let me start:

TP-Bishan is a very weak GRC (due to WKS, the Hen and other useless MPs like Hri and Josephine Teo), plus Chiam & gang and SDP have shown intentions to contest it. So this GRC is a 'high-risk' one for PAP. Lim Hwee Hua may join it - perhaps together with her ward annexed from Aljunied. Anecdotal evidence suggests LHH is popular with womenfolk.

With WKS stepping down, one of the DPM post will be open. PAP will use this to entice Aljunied voters by saying George Yeo will be made DPM if elected. That is provided that Aljunied still exists. [/FONT]

decade while the cost of living shoot sky high.

You voted for PAP, and you see the foreign kids get a place in school
while you child get zilch.

You voted for PAP, and you find that your public transport is no
longer "public".

You voted for PAP, and your ministers want to house 1,500 foreign
workers right smacked in the middle of a peaceful neighborhood without
any concerns for you.

You voted for PAP, and the government readily reward your men with
more hookers than they can ever poked in Geylang.

You voted for PAP, and your government happily demands $5000 ang pao
from you when your maid runaway or get pregnant even though you had
nothing to do with it.

sized banners of their ghastly faces to scare away ghosts during the

councils which is suppose to go toward making life in your
neighborhood better.

companies by making you pump 3/4 tank before you cross the causeway.

You voted for PAP, and they see nothing wrong with fining you for
driving a foreign registered car into Singapore.

You voted for PAP, and you discover that world-class super talented
multi-million dollar minister with all the state resources and
manpowers cannot even catch a limping man in this tiny island state
after more than half a year.

You voted for PAP, and you realise that your MP's job is not to speak
out for you in parliament, but to tell you to tighten the belt, bite
the bullet, eat lesser and work longer.

You voted for PAP, and your kids have to stay with you till 40 years
old, as they cannot afford the cheapest "public" housing.

You voted for PAP, and your government tells you that their
interpretation of subsidies is the profit that they forgo making,
instead of actually paying part of the cost.

You voted for PAP, and everyone in Singapore suddenly got elevated to

I predict the 66.6% will drop to 56% if we only use the perception of, or actual economic standing of a voter as the single most important factor in the decision of vote.

I gauge that the top 40% will still vote PAP as they are still well to do or perceive themselves as well to do. However, those from the 41st percentile to the 66th percentile, there may actually be a decrease in their economic sranding or the perception of it. Let's say half of this 26% vote opposition. This means there will be a shift of 13%. Hence 66% - 13% = 53%.

Howver, of the 33% poor, there may be a 3% change for those who move abit up the economic ladder.

Hence 53% plus 3% = 56%.
