I have witnessed some major incidents where commanders and CP were not in uniform. Just too bad LYL was exposed. I suspect even he did not expect the incident to escalate to what it was.

I agree with you. If you can't make a difference, why you go there ? You are there to lead your troops. If Information on the ground is not forth coming, you must go in and piece up whatever information you have and make decision on the ground. From there on, you are the moving roving HQ. It is not the rioters are holding guns and other weapons. Then you can tell people that there are dangers of being injured or your gun being looted by the rioters.

That what we call Paper General ! Full of theory. When comes to ground, stay far far away from the epic centre of matters. When things go wrong, say it the protocol prohibits you from executing your job. Classic ... i would say Classic ! If Protocol are not allowing you to break the rules, then it time to break it. Break it and explain later. If your explanation justified, then i think it time to rethink the protocol ,or you can justify that such protocol cannot work in real life.

We're talking about unarmed, non battle hardened contruction workers ah nehs & our polis cant even deal with them. I suggest sending our polis to Bangkok to get a close up action for experience sake.
