I wish to ask the Media Development Authority why sports viewing on television has become largely restricted to those who can afford pay TV?
Once, Singaporeans were treated to the English Premier League, European Cup (now Champions League) football and the semi-finals and finals of Grand Slam tennis tournaments on free-to-air television. Now we must open our wallets for more than one subscription package just to enjoy the sports telecasts we used to get for free.
How did we regress to this level?
