Lee Kuan Yew once said that election is not fun and games. This election, PAP might field its youngest candidate since Tan Soo Khoon time - 27 years old Tan Pei Ling. Is she ready to be an MP? Watch this 2009 PAP Party convention video and judge for yourself. She appears at the end on 2.53mins.

PAP's youngest face in polls?

P8c.jpg

THE People's Action Party (PAP) may field one of its youngest candidates ever in the coming polls, party sources said.

The potential candidate is 27-year-old business consultant Tin Pei Ling, who will be the youngest woman candidate in recent history, and the youngest since former Speaker Tan Soo Khoon was fielded in 1976, also at age 27.

Ms Tin sits on the executive committee of Young PAP, the party's youth wing, and has been a grassroots leader in the Ulu Pandan ward in Holland-Bukit Timah GRC since the age of 21.

She is married to civil servant Ng How Yue, who is principal private secretary to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

When contacted, Ms Tin declined to comment on her possible candidacy. 'It would be quite presumptuous to think that I will definitely be a candidate,' she said.

'But if asked, I would definitely consider it. And if I make the decision to stand, I would give it my best shot.'

OMG she looks like a female version of Wu Zhong Xian

Age should be no barrier to becoming an MP. You need intellience and a HEART. Courage too. The question is, will she speak up for her residents from the bottom of her heart? Or will she merely endorse what her bosses want?

She looks very raw... If she stands, I say good luck to her... She needs all the luck cos she comes across as bimbotic...

PAP MPs are so used to saying “yes” in Parliament that they almost screwed up the budget of the Home Affairs Ministry by agreeing to reduce it.
PAP MP Alvin Yeo from Hong Kah GRC tabled a motion on Thursday to reduce the budget of the Home Affairs Ministry. As he was not present during the debate on the next day, Speaker of the House Abdullah Tarmugi asked MPs to decide to approve the motion.
As the PAP MPs are used to saying “Yes” in Parliament for many years, when the Speaker asked for a decision to be made on the motion, all of them shouted “AYE” in unison instinctively which prompted him to raise his head to hint to the MPs to listen carefully before voting again.
The PAP MPs realized their boo-boo and shouted “NO” amidst a chorous of laughter to reject the motion which allowed the budget for the Home Affairs Ministry to be passed through.

Below is an excerpt on the embarrassing incident reported by Lianhe Zaobao on 6 March 2010:

Is she obedient to LKL and PAP? YES

Will she laugh when the rest are laughing and mocking the opposition when they are trying to make a statement even if it is not funny? YES

Will she ask stupid question like why are we building casinos when it is still debating in parliment? NO

If above is correct then she is ready to be MP.. Under GRC..

More like a chioubo wannbe.

PAP is showing sign of running out of human resources..

She is too young and never eat hardships before. Not ready to MP yet.

If your criteria for ineligibility to be an MP is "never eat hardships before", more than half of the incumbents will have to step down.
Perhaps more than half of the candidates, both pap and opposition, will not be eligible to stand either. :D

She is one of the pioneer USP graduates. Am personally quite glad the first young MP in so many years is a local grad.

Lee Kuan Yew should let Ah Loong fuck Ah Ling to maintain genetic superiority. If not, why the incestuous turn inwards for political renewal?
