One hundred adult learners will be sponsored by the Singapore government to attend a SAP ERP post graduate course run by Victoria University.
The course will be delivered by Victoria University in Singapore, in partnership with South-East Asian SAP education provider Lithan Genovate.
The Singaporean government will subsidise the cost of the course fees for the three month graduation certificate in ERP, and a 7 month paid internship.
The combination of ERP studies and a paid internship is a unique opportunity for students.
The government’s commitment is part of the Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Enterprise Resource Planning.
PCPs are run over a number of industries to enhance joy opportunities for Singaporean business professionals in key growth sectors, including IT, Healthcare, Tourism and Retail.
Victoria University said the move signals the strong commitment of the Singapore government towards developing a pool of skilled talent to support the Singapore’s Infocomm industry.
The infocomm sector is a key contributor to the Singapore economy. According to the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), revenue for the industry reached $58.1 billion Singapore dollars in 2008.
Victoria University’s SAP Programs Director, Paul Hawking, said the graduates would be in high demand by the industry when they completed studies.
“This commitment from the Singapore government to subsidise the cost of study for interns in its Professional Skills Program confirms the worldwide demand for SAP skills and the role universities can play in satisfying this demand,” he said.
Victoria University offers a number of other ERP related course in facilities across the Asia Pacific, including Melbourne, Singapore and Beijing.
