PAP Vivian Balakrishnan broke cooling-off day law and canvass for votes

admin / 56 mins ago

A photo of Vivian Balakrishnan posting on his Twitter account canvassing for votes on the cooling-off day is making its rounds on Facebook. The post has since been deleted after commentators pointed out his mistake.

A police report can be made against the PAP candidate for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC for flouting the election law.

PAP's Vivian Balakrishnan seems to have broken the rule for Cooling-Off Day by posting on his Facebook and Twitter accounts a mere two hours after Cooling-Off Day rules came into effect.
He mentioned the word "campaigning" too.
Here, we ask the Singapore Police Force to clarify if Dr Vivian has indeed broken the rules.

Dr Vivian Balakrishan, a candidate at the Holland Bukit-Timah GRC, posted a post on his facebook and reposted onto his twitter account at 1.52am on cooling off day and was promptly noted by his followers that he was posting on cooling off day.

He subsequently deleted his post and made the post no longer accessible, However, the twitter post is still somewhat viewable on mobile and it is present in cache.

Can the police comment on the possible violation of the electoral regulation on cooling off day by a contesting candidate?

Let's be gentlemanly and give VB the benefit of doubt he made an honest mistake. Like what CSJ says, we do not need to engage in unfair and gutter politics.

Wait long long, lah. Will never happen....LKY had already said..."PAP is Govt, Govt is PAP.." What does it mean? Who to arrest him? Who to prosecute him?

Vivian Balakrishnan: Cooling Day Post is Facebook's Fault

Vivian Balakrishnan has issued a statement that a message posted on his Twitter Account at 1.52 am last night after the start of the Cooling Day period was due to Facebook glitch.

According to his spokesman, the post had been "auto-posting recurrently”. As his Facebook and Twitter accounts are linked, an associated tweet was also generated today.

“Despite multiple attempts by the page administrators to stop this, the problem recurred at 1.52am on Sept 10, 2015. We have contacted Facebook headquarters to conduct an investigation into the source of this bug,” said Dr Balakrishnan.

It's strange that only Vivian Balakrishnan has experienced such a glitch.

Vivian Balakrishnan who is leading the PAP team in Holland-Bukit Timah GRC is also heading the SMART Nation Taskforce which has the mandate to turn Singapore into an IT-smart nation.

Can you imagine if the situation is reversed? That is, if CSJ (SDP) broke the cooling-day law, I am sure Dr VB would not be so gracious and kind to let CSJ off.

The PAP and their minions have never been and never will be gracious or merciful in all their persecutions, hounding and harassing of any opponents who 'break' the law. Their double standard rules NEVER result in their own punishment and they NEVER admit their mistakes or have the decency to hara kiri except for Liu tuck Yew

VB knows that he could lose ...panics big time. If he is out of a job, he has to go back and be a half-past-six doctor again.
