admin / 56 mins ago
A photo of Vivian Balakrishnan posting on his Twitter account canvassing for votes on the cooling-off day is making its rounds on Facebook. The post has since been deleted after commentators pointed out his mistake.
A police report can be made against the PAP candidate for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC for flouting the election law.

PAP's Vivian Balakrishnan seems to have broken the rule for Cooling-Off Day by posting on his Facebook and Twitter accounts a mere two hours after Cooling-Off Day rules came into effect.
He mentioned the word "campaigning" too.
Here, we ask the Singapore Police Force to clarify if Dr Vivian has indeed broken the rules.

Dr Vivian Balakrishan, a candidate at the Holland Bukit-Timah GRC, posted a post on his facebook and reposted onto his twitter account at 1.52am on cooling off day and was promptly noted by his followers that he was posting on cooling off day.
He subsequently deleted his post and made the post no longer accessible, However, the twitter post is still somewhat viewable on mobile and it is present in cache.
Can the police comment on the possible violation of the electoral regulation on cooling off day by a contesting candidate?
