The reality is that Singapore was built on ship chandlers handling provisions etc. The whole existence of SIngapore was the result of our location along the main sea routes. We are just going back to our routes. We have even Soviet naval crafts and we will continue to do so. Electronics assembly is long gone.

This is not an issue of ship chandlers handling provision. This is an issue of basing a foreign country's warships here, over the objections of another major power. If its just a case of earning income, I can assure u that the PAP will come out with many money making schemes. U don't need to earn money this way.

It is an overpriced, proudly made in the US of A coastal patrol ship. The USN had cheaper boats back then but once again military-industrial complex selling and the pentagon buying lemons again.

navy doctrine and long term plan has all along called for 2 bases; 1 in the west and 1 in the east; to replace BNB.
TNB is simply not big enough; sea front and land; to accomodate all the Navy assets and training schools.
TNB has definitely not been abandoned and is operating and is the home base for a number of squadrons.
