Mr S.S. Teo is the Managing Director of Pacific International Lines Pte Ltd (“PIL”). Mr Teo started his shipping career with PIL Group in Singapore since 1979 and was appointed the Managing Director in 1992.

PIL’s subsidiary Singamas Container Holdings Ltd is the 2nd largest container manufacturer in the world. Mr Teo became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Singamas in 1997 and was appointed as Chairman in May 2013.

If creditors reject the restructuring and PIL is liquidated, it could be the biggest container line failure since the collapse of South Korea’s Hanjin Shipping in 2016, although its impact is likely to be significantly less.
