I read with great “apprehension” this article published in TODAY - ”Bloggers uniting slowly, but surely” about the setting up of a bloggers association.
Oh dear, will this blog need to get accreditated by the association in future to obtain a “licence to blog” ?
According to founder and President Jayne Goh, it aims to raise the profile of bloggers and will promote, protect as well as educate its members.
Describing bloggers as “loose sand scattered all over,” Ms Goh wants the blogging community to have “grown-up conversations, blogging responsibility and creative growth”.
“I find the state of our blogosphere in Singapore appalling,” said Ms Goh, “When discussions get heated, crude language, insults and other off-colour comments may be encountered … I want to change that,” she said.
Ahh….Ms Goh, you must understand that many stressed, depressed and frustrated men blog to release their pent-up tensions accumulated through slogging like a dog in school or at work day in and out in their daily lives. You can’t expect them to engage in wishy-washy niceties as you ladies do ? And how are you gonna change “THAT” ?
By introducing “good practice guidelines” as suggested by PAP MP Lam Pin Min ?
