"TWO Senior Counsel were announced by Chief Justice Chan Sek Keong at the opening of the Legal Year 2012, along with the first-ever appointment of a Senior Counsel (honoris causa) or Honorary Senior Counsel – a title conferred on non-advocates.

.........

Aedit Abdullah, chief prosecutor of the criminal justice division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers, and Kannan Ramesh, managing partner of Tan Kok Quan Partnership, were appointed Senior Counsel – a title given to outstanding lawyers with extensive knowledge of the law and the highest professional standing.

Mr Aedit supervises the prosecution of capital cases, drug and specialist crimes, monitors prosecutions by other agencies and provides advice on criminal matters to government agencies.

On his appointment to Senior Counsel, Mr Aedit said: ‘It is an honour and a recognition of the work of the entire Crime Cluster within AGC.?? Litigation is a team effort, and I have had a wonderful team of fellow prosecutors, administrators and legal executives to help me.’

heard he is not a practicing muslim but came from muslim background la..... the lawyers who know him say he is a smart chap but not likely to take public office with the pap because it might actually piss off the muslims because he had forsaken that religion already....

besides he should be too smart for the fucking clowns in the PAP and too dangerous because he can easily outshine anyone of them anytime....we cant have that can we???

anyways since we are on this topic why is nobody asking about Nizam Ismail?? he is another smart malay and a practising muslim....the pap dont even wanna consuder but instead chose the village idiot and a real malay caricature to be the mayor of CBD (simi lanjiao) and the chairman of the FAS (what else right??)....if the singapore rock guitar association or the "rest in one corner" club exists....that fucking clown would have been made chairman as well also im sure.....

fuck you pap!!!

RI Boy... cohorts of Ng How Yue and the likes. He wasn't the most brilliant of the lots but his English Language n Literature was clearly outstanding. Came from an ordinary family living in an exec maisonette in Pasir Ris or Tampines I cant remember, family were nice people and so was he.

I really hope that he will be recruited by PAP. It will be a bonus to the 40% of voters.

based on the above, it appears that he came from a middle class family,
not our old days of a typical family of 4 to 6 living in a one or two-bedroom flat.

Confirmed, sealed and chop!

He would have been identified many years ago, given his academic credentials and race. Likely to have had tea with key PAP men. My hunch is that he told them he wanted a legal service career first before taking the plunge with the MIW. If he doesn't join the MIW, I am quite sure his next post could be SG. Could even be appointed PS. With his legal background, Min of Law.

Hmm...actually hor hes more interested in another field. Not legal field.

Anyway hes a successful man now. He made his mark!

After the AMP fiasco and revolt when the community made it clear that they do not recognise Yatiman and gang during GCT times, the agreement reached is that both sides will forward their slate of candidates and both sides have veto power. As a Malay it is not up to him and the PAP. SInce then all Malay candidates must seek the blessing and must do community related activity if they hope to smell parliament. Not everyone is prepared to kowtow to that level.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. If he chooses to stay put in the civil service, a super promising career awaits him as long as he doesn't stray and/or upset the wrong people.

I understand that he will be absorbed into Admin Service. One dry run with MAS completed.
