The latest fiasco about this Tin Pei Ling goes only to prove the arrogance of the PAP. Apparently the PAP is oblivious to feedback nor are they concerned with the voice of its people, dismissing us merely as “noises” when we were expressing genuine concerns. If the PAP persists in wanting to field her, this tells me that they are willing to risk their positions in the government for an unqualified candidate. And this is an extremely major cause of concern to me.
People like Ms Tin are everywhere. There is nothing special or outstanding about her. She can build her experience elsewhere and run for elections later when she has built her credibility. In fact, there are lots more other people who are better qualified than her. My country is too important to me to let her use it as a playground for her to grow up.
I am seriously concerned about the mentality of the PAP who thinks that it’s okay to field such a candidate. For years we have trusted PAP to introduce appropriate new candidates. This time, if PAP can’t understand why Ms Tin is inappropriate, then let the voters help them understand during the election.
This arrogant party has stopped listening to us a long time ago, it is time to send a strong signal to make them understand that Singaporeans are not merely “noises”.
