The electoral system should follow the Hong Kong model after disregarding the meddling from the PRC.

Legislative council makes the laws. District council does the local administration and deals with municipal issues. Executive council advises the person in charge. And they have their separate elections.

Geographically, you don't need so many MPs. Just need five zones: North, South, East, West, Central, and each zone sub-divided into five or six sub-zones. 25-30 MPs are more than enough.

This GRC 'bao gar liao' system can only be the invention of a dictator. Had the Brits colonized Sinkieland for a few more decades instead of letting the Famillee burrow deep, the trajectory of SG politics would have been quite different.

For a society to practice meritocracy, there cannot exist the concept of GRC.
