Other ways to watch WCup
By Jeremy Au Yong
ALL may not be lost for local football fans even if Singapore fails to secure the broadcast rights to this year's World Cup matches.

With the broadcast battle now heading deep into injury time, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts Lui Tuck Yew suggested yesterday that older Singaporeans learn from younger ones about the various alternatives available for catching the games.

Responding to a question at a dialogue at the end of a visit to Punggol North constituency, Rear-Admiral (NS) Lui said the youth were less worried because they knew of ways around the problem.

He said: 'For the elderly who are more worried that they do not know the different ways they can watch the World Cup, I guess the young have a lot to teach us in that respect.

'And I'll have to learn from them too.'

Though he expressed optimism that a deal would be struck, yesterday's talk of alternatives was an acknowledgement of how tenuous the situation is.

basically, he is saying, if you can find other ways then you good. If not, then you habis!

Some mini-star had been sleeping on the job or is too busy wallowing in his mega salary paid by taxpayers.

Re: $$$Million Minitoot Has A Suggestion on World Cup

I believe in the end, it will become Pay per View... meaning to say, you want to watch... you pay extra.... And then the minister will come out and say... look we have done our best. If we didn't step in, you get nothing! Then some silly Singaporeans will say, okay, okay, you want money, we pay....
But I can almost guarantee that there will be free streaming sites online....

Re: $$$Million Minitoot Has A Suggestion on World Cup

Self snook. If live streaming is the way for singaporeans to watch the world cup, then it will be the same for Epl and other cable content.

He's saying that himself is redundant. Why need a minister when youngsters can figure it out?

Epl live streaming is available on some dodgy china sites now but there is a 3 minute lag, no?

should demand Lui Tuck Yew show us a legal online website that broadcast WC matches.
think even bros here would struggle to name 1.

As a minister, he should watch what he's saying and don't tease us with words and talk in riddles.
