Desmond Lim is a fucking moron. How has PM lee understood the issues of Singaporeans? Bollocks!!

And, if u impose a social welfare tax, you are only encouraging PRs to stay and further drain jobs from sinkees!

The problem is that PAP is importing too many to begin with, not that they are not staying put!

FUCKING CHEEBYE does Mr Lim KNOW the real problem sinkee are facing or not?!?!

Good thing I am self employed. If this kind of oppo get into parliament and I am still an employee I think I can kiss myself good luck and goodbye. Will be no different from PAP.

It is not the Garment importing too many. they are not selective in their imports, ending up with foreigners competing with local on the same posts. Some post like Engineers remain vacant even after weeks of adverts but no local applications.

However, I am just wondering why SDA is now represented by a "Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC Election Office". It appears now that DL is trying to build a separate base of power like Ong Eng Guan once did to PAP, after losing the SPP base. Even then he could speak as SDA Secretary-General.

Good point.

But that guy seriously needs to improve his PR skills. Opposition should be able to accommodate and tolerate internal dissent (after all, aren't oppo pro-democracy?), but the way DL is doing it so definitely not right.

Given that GE is *definitely* within less than a year's reach, there is too little time for him (or the rest to)

1) buck up
2) improve PR
3) for SDA to find a new Sec-Gen

For #3 Chiam or Mrs Chiam to remove DL as SDA Sec-Gen is different from removing DL as SPP ASG. In SPP, a slim majority sticks to Chiams. In SDA, you throw in PKMS and SJP, the balance is different.

Look at the PKMS Malays that DL mobilized for the SPP conference and walkabouts. Clearly shows even PKMS don't give Chiam face now by agreeing to support DL in barging into SPP conference. On the other hand, PKMS was seen to be with Chiam in various photos in 2006 but not today, most obviously missing from joint walks with RP.

That also explains why Chiam could form SDA with everyone agreeing to give him veto powers, which only makes sense that he could renew it when it expired, but when the time did come, his proposal to renew his veto powers was voted out. Good PR or not, DL has worked his way into SDA's oldest and biggest opposition party and he is here to stay until he chooses to leave.

DL's response probably the worst response from an opposition politician so far. Very disappointed and disgusted with his response, and beginning to understand why old Chiam refuse to give up his Potong Pasir seat to him. Won't be surprised this time round, if DL's team fare worse than 31%, which he garnered in GE2006 at Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC. :(
