Any opposition party needs to convince voters that they are worth voting for more than PAP. To say you are the real opposition to vote for, others are PAP apologist opposition, even if you succeed in convincing, you are just 5% more than the rest. You get 30%, others 25%, still lose. Someone still needs to get it.

I think people has said that YSL made a mistake but there were others whose mistakes benefitted the PAP more. Of course, your target is the WP, so why would you care about the POV of others.

No other period in Singapore's recent history has there been a better feeding ground for Oppposition politics. If the very disparate and disunited Opposition camp who have always claimed they want to make a difference to the lives of the people, and make the Opposition concept a reality, then if they can't now, WHEN?
Every political party leader is undeniably an egoistic fellow if not an egomaniac. So I think a lot of hurdles related to personnas, their super-egos emotional and political baggage has to be cleared aside if one wishes to see a more united fortified Opposition front. This perhaps may be too ideal.
The next best alternative is probably to meet and take a holistics approach and work out the grand electoral strategy, who and where to stand, to capitalise on the discontented ground to the last mile. If they can't agree under a single banner,at least agree to disagree and maximise their individual's potential by matching their strengths to their home grounds , capture the GRC or ward, and go on to Parliament to continue the fight. No matter that they may have entered by different paths, each should rise to the occasion to expose, to query, to challenge, and to ultimately hammer the PAP to the ground.

no. i think u misunderstood me.
i am not hung up in supporting SDP. i am not a member, i am not a fanatic of SDP. maybe the next GE, SDP candidate appear in my area, and i find him too laid back, and i don't like his attitude, and i will not vote him. even though he's a SDP.

YSL could have void his vote if his choice is between PAP and PAP apologist. he voted for the PAP when the choice is between PAP and SDP.
Did I say you support the SDP? I am saying, if you don't want "PAP apologists" to get elected, support those you think are not. Make them look better than PAP. Try your luck to make them look better than anything outside PAP, whether they are "apologist" or not, maybe you will strike 4D.
