Chitchat Operation Halimah Begins

The PAP knows full well what they are doing. What they do not realise or appreciate is that they are destroying the credibility of the Malays and making them look like Idiots. Halimah and her family are living in a bubble to think that living in HDB flat will fix everything perception wise. The fact that no one one in his right mind will stay in a HDB if they are well paid is lost on her. 85% would prefer to have a bungalow of their own with a nice garden with flowers to smell and raise their kids is not something bizarre. You owe it to your family to work hard and achieve a place better than what you had. This false and ridiculous sense of humility is meant for blur fucks of the RCs. The fact that she finally made her decision one day after meeting AMP is telling that they have the Malay communal leaders who are the best educated by their balls.

Its about the kampung kindred spirit...

Mdm Kasmah in all probably was born in a Kampung in the home of her parents where the house was detached, on stilts with a small gardens patch where vegetables were grown. No different to the detached bungalows of today where privacy and ownerships was proudly respected. Its not the kumpung spirit but an attempt to usurp ex President Wee Kim Wee image who was kind, humble and well known as the people's president and his wife was also the same.

Touche - speaking of spouses it will be very interesting to see how Mr Halimah Y handles being in such a dominant public space - there is a slight air of being abit of a wildcard character especially since nothing is really known about him publicly. Imagine the state banquets they will be attending internationally. Watch that space?

A few days ago, I came across an article about the spouse but it turned out about he supporting her candidature despite the headline. Nothing new was revealed. All we Singaporeans know is the usual - an Arab, a physics grad, a businessman and her University sweatheart. The term businessman can refer to a hawker to anyone. Its unlike female spouses where they are usually homemakers and society accepts that. Most people would assume that he was a deadbeat living off her NTUC income.

This is breathtaking. How can one mention meritocracy in conjunction with reserved minority presidency? It's an oxymoron.

Affirmative action yes, multiculturalism maybe (true multiculturalism involves removing all forms of discrimination and segregrationist policies), but never meritocracy.

In the not too distant future, the bards will sing of Loong's glorious reign!

Just like the term banker...the cashier at the bank, is now a BANKER too...the pimp at the back lane is a businessman too...

Yes and the penniless female tourists from Vietnam and China are entrepreneurs too. Teehee!

People's displeasure of the PAP and the way they engineered this will be taken out on Halimah for 3 reasons.

1. She becomes the target as the only visible symbol of this manipulation by the government.

2. Why did she allow herself to be used.

3. People did not mind that she rode on the coattails under the GRC scheme as most Singaporeans have been conditioned by the PAP that minorities cannot stand on their own and many actually think that minorities would not have the right credentials as the majority as though the bar had gone up considerably.

Taking all 3 points, people are now digging her past contribution in the NTUC and as speaker and thats when it would have dawned on them that is did not amount to much. She appears to have achieved very little except in the made up world of PAP.

If you look, the press over the years have highlighted a few things and all of it is poor

- She is began work with NTUC after law school and her grades have never ever been mentioned. You cannot join the Public service - Civil as well stat board unless you have at least a 2:2. The exception are Div 1 EO or Uniform Entry level grade. She also could not have entered the Legal services if she did achieve 2:2.

- She living in a HDB flat and making a song and dance of it to constantly suggest humility.

- She wining Her World's Woman of the year award.

- she is a labour leader and has fought for worker's right. This claim can be made by every single NTUC paid staff who turned up for work and did nothing. Its claim that she cannot demonstrate except going up the ranks on the basis of seniority and attrition.

She became speaker by default as the PAP alway had issues with previous speakers - Tan Soo Khoon, Yeo Ghim Seng both of whom had a mind of their own and Michael Palmer who had his own issues. She everyone knows would toe the line.

Like it or not , despite the role being largely ceremonial, people still look up to and expect a President to have some credentials and accomplishments. Some do very well in that role. Wee was one universally accepted. Nathan was panned royally for his dog-master relationship to the old man despite he achieving success in Public service and having reached the top. His memoirs made it worse by he admitting the dog-master role.

With Halimah, its a double whammy - her lack of credentials, no insight about her spouse and no gravitas plus PAP engineered contest where an Indian blood is going to take the place reserved for a Malay. The fact that her mother was a Malay is not going to accepted.

This is an excruciating joke. The worst thing is that the powers that be think it is fine to pull such stunts. I have nothing against HY. She might even be a good president. But why this build up ? I will grant her grit and determination. But that should speak for itself. Bootstrapping yourself was not unknown in that generation.

Racial harmony indeed....this move for a reserved EP, and under qualified too if I may add, just makes a mockery out of meritocracy and choosing the best person for the job.

Meritocracy does not mean the best of the worst.

"the allocation of political power explains the maintenance of autocracies, which they usually refer to as "extractive states"....For them, the de jure political power comes from political institutions, whereas the de facto political power is determined by the distribution of resources. Those holding the political power in the present will design the political and economic institutions in the future according to their interests. In autocracies, both de jure and de facto political powers are concentrated in one person or a small elite that will promote institutions for keeping the de jure political power as concentrated as the de facto political power, thereby maintaining autocratic regimes with extractive institutions "
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autocracy

" Authoritarian political systems may be weakened through "inadequate performance to demands of the people."....the tendency to respond to challenges to authoritarianism through tighter control instead of adaptation is a significant weakness, and that this overly rigid
approach fails to "adapt to changes or to accommodate growing demands on the part of the populace or even groups within the system."...
Because the legitimacy of the state is dependent on performance, authoritarian states that fail to adapt may collapse "

No world class univerisites here offer any explanation, so I just copy from Wikipedia

If the 2 other candidates say that they are withdrawing because Halimah is campaigning it will be a major blow to the PAP. Lets see if they are smart enough to figure this out.

Now even Indians are refusing to acknowledge they are Indians. Like that racist or not ?

I am still waiting for Gilbert Goh to announce the date for his PE protest at Hong Lim.
There is no fucking way Botak Goh is not going to capitalise on the PE hooha and squeeze some money out of this BS for his twice a year holidays in Australia.
If I am wrong about Gilbert the opportunist, I will shave both my big and small head botak.
