警方到場調查後，以涉嫌非禮將涉案警長拘捕。被捕警長(54歲)，將屆55歲退休年齡，他經扣查後暫獲准保釋候查，須於5月下旬向警方報到，案件由荃灣警區重案組跟進。警方發言人回應時證實，一名休班警務人員被捕，並重申警隊非常重視人員的操守，任何人員干犯違法行為，警隊絕不容忍和姑息，定必嚴正處理，進行刑事調查及紀律覆檢。
近年發生多宗涉及警務人員的風化案，去年8月，姓黃(43歲)休班男被指與一宗在中環奧卑利街已婚警察宿舍內發生的非禮及街頭遊蕩案有關，男警被控一項非禮罪及一項遊蕩罪。去年11月，姓趙(54歲)休班男警涉嫌在港鐵荔景站非禮16歲少女被捕。
