as for now being in remand..he will be remand for 4mths 2 weeks?

No la he convicted and sentenced so now start serving liao since lawyer says he is in jail.
Think the appeal hearing will be fast if not defeats purpose.

Swiss national Juerg Buergin who was jailed last week for obtaining commercial sex from an underage escort filed a notice of appeal against his conviction on Monday.

The 41-year-old former bank executive director was found guilty last month after a four-day trial of two counts of paying $600 and $650 for the sexual services of the minor at luxury hotels on Sept 29, 2010 and Jan 3, 2011 respectively.

He was sentenced to four months and three weeks in jail by District Judge Eddy Tham on Wednesday.

The father of two was the first among 51 men to have claimed trial for commercial sex with the minor.

45th man convicted in online vice ring case gets 10 weeks' jail

SINGAPORE - Another of the 51 men hauled to court three years ago for commercial sex with a minor in an online vice ring case was jailed for 10 weeks on Thursday.

Fong Kok Liang, 43, who is self-employed and ran a printing business, is the 47th man to be dealt with, and the 45th to be convicted of the offence. Two have been acquitted and most of the others were jailed between 10 and 12 weeks each for similar offences.

Fong admitted to paying $450 for the sexual services of a 17-year-old social escort working for pimp Tang Boon Thiew on Oct 10, 2010.

The court heard that Tang, 41, started operating the online vice ring in 2010.
