True democracy entails a high responsibility on the citizen, That is why in many western countries like the US, you have months of primaries leading up to the actual election and during this time, the people have the opportunity to scrutinize the candidates all the way back to their teenage uni years. In singapore, the onus is even heavier by virtue of the lack of true information, media bias for the PAP, lack of coverage for the oppos, etc. Sinkie voters have to weed out all the nonsense from the PAP and seek out the message from the oppo. But i fear they are not up to the task.
