I am surprised most of you think he is still up for it. I've seen recent TV footage of our dear paramount leader and he looks really slow and vacant.
Fielding him in the election might turn out to be a liability. And honestly, even if elected, how long can he last? Definitely not for 5 years!

He is reaching his finishing line.
To his credit, despite his advanced years, he still make public appearances for his constituency activities whenever possible - very unlike some other old farts who just squat & do nothing.
Old Man may be slow & unsteady at times but his schedule is still quite solid for a 87 year old man.
Consider Raja gone, Lim Kim San gone, Toh still feeling sorry for himself, Goh Keng Swee, dementia out of public eye, LKY quite blessed to be still ambulant & making speeches...
This chap sure will die in office ... being national leader is his self-professed lifelong role unless he is incapacitated .....
A fervent believer of eugenics, his own father died at 90 so, Old Man once crossed 90 means anytime oredy, as good as 'earn' oredy.....
Old Man has coped remarkably well with wife's stroke & bed-ridden reality, travelling alone these days.
But one never knows, if his wife goes , REALLY GONE, what psychological impact will be on Old Man ? So many imponderables.

1. even if the software is willing, how long will the hardware take the "punishment"?
2. it is going to cost the nation millions of dollars and resources for the entire bunch of medical professionals from nuh keeping the hardware going and going.

But what Moderator is sharing here is preposterous ! Can the family operate normally & the daughter continue to write in ST - all part of a cover-up scam to cover Mrs Lee's as-good-as-gone status?

The Bright Hill complex is very open and clearly can be seen by residents of the surrounding HDB flats. Security Branch in their volvos and VW Toureg escorting him even late at night cannot be missed in the compound. Not so his Ceylon Road visits.

if Old Fart lives to 99, and a good chance he will, (his recent ancestors lived close to 100, and he is probably better shape than them with his regiment of health food/supplement/exercise). he can still take part in 3 more elections ok,,,,
for all you know, he will probably outlive his useless son and his pretty daughter, and set up for the Li Hong Yi or the LHY's son to sit on the throne,,,,,
