You can't push the Malays of old. They are polite and accommodating but you can't push your views on them. You work with them and gain their trust. The problem was sinkieland saw merger as union of 2 countries while Malaysia viewed us as state within a country. Even the Malaya had to change their name to "Malaysia" with "SI" meaning Sinkieland. There was very little ideological foundation in the merger then. Today I don't think Malaysia will be willing to accept a re-merger if it was based on sinkieland terms. Time is not on our side anyway.
