Yeah, I agree brother. Working in the hospital is not easy. Long hours, demanding patients and their family members. Instead of encouraging more locals to go for nursing courses and increasing their salaries, the pappies chose the short cut ways of bringing in foreign nurses and students who did not mind the lower salary.

I agree with Watchman. Prostitution is not an easy job.
You have to face all sorts of men.. and you have to smile.. and excite them.. or (if you have the freedom to) can reject them.. but you lose business.. it's not easy to get naked and do all that stuff with a total stranger.. especially when you HAVE to please them.. and make them aroused and orgasm..not easy at all.

The savings are hardly noticeable. It was meant to protect the high income of doctors, rather than to save money for NUS.

The cost is about the same regardless of whether annual enrollment is 200 medical students or 300 medical students. THe facilities need not be scaled up much. Even professors required is about the same since lectures are conducted in big groups anyway.

I can think of a simple solution to improve the quality of medical care in Spore.

Simply ban civil servants from going overseas for medical treatment. I'm pretty sure people like LKY, LHL,.... would then decide that good nurses are important

Just saw PM visiting nurses on TV - must be a salvage mission. Funnily it was one of the key professions chosen for A thank you dinner at the Istana together nurses, Intel etc.

not only was the medical enrollment curtailed, the law enrollment is also curtailed too.

And he celebrated his 61st birthday with them there too. It wouldn't be surprising if he does not know that NUS offers a degree (BSc no less) for a 3-year nursing degree.

Agree with watchman8 and you. It is a noble profession. More respected than politicians.
