CSJ also underestimated how low the ruling party will go to engage in political smear campaign, how low the media will stoop to blacken his name. It takes him decades to slowly rebuild his party and reputation.

NSP's decision to contest Macpherson has just proven my point that NSP is infested with PAP spies.

NSP has just lost its credibility completely. It will lose its deposit in Macpherson as voters would have seen through their true color by now.

WP or SDP should contest Tampines, Pioneer and other NSP's 'territory,' make them lose their deposit and vanish from Singapore's political scene forever.

There was a by-election in 1992 in Marine Parade. A four-corner fight between PAP, SDP, NSP and SJP.

The results:

PAP 72.9%

SDP 24.5%

NSP 1.4%

SJP 1.1%

NSP should not risk losing its credibility further. In a multi-corner fight, opposition supporters will vote for the stronger PAP challengers.

The choice is so obvious, unless NSP's intention is to deprive a likely victory for WP.

The rest of the opposition will gain credibility by simply sticking to their original agreement to avoid 3CF, with the exception of PP. By trying to capitalize on NSP's huge folly, the other opposition parties risk looking like a bunch of liars and cheapskates out of a quick bargain at NSP's expense. Next GE, NSP would either cease to exist or simply become like the SDA. On the other hand, grassroots survey have indicated that SDA has improved its own credibility by the way Desmond handled the viral video about his speech impediment.
