Ex-tactical ranger charged for accepting $20 bribe

SINGAPORE - A former National Parks Board tactical ranger was charged in court yesterday for having allegedly accepted a $20 bribe.
Accoridng to a local news channel, 59-year-old Lee Hak Peng stands accused of having taken money from Nurhidayu Mansor in March last year at East Coast Park in return not issuing Nurhidayu a summon for littering.
Lee has requested for a trial, and it has been scheduled to take place next week.
His passport was seized by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau.
If found guilty under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Lee can be fined a maximum of $100,000, jailed for up to five years, or both.
