[h=2]Northeast Line delay causes student to miss PSLE oral exam[/h]Posted by temasektimes on August 19, 2012
The latest delay in the Northeast Line on Friday not only caused inconvenience to thousands of commuters, but caused one Primary Six student to miss their PSLE oral examinations as well.
The state media reported one Primary Six student who missed his PSLE oral examination due to the train delay:

Another student was almost late if not for his neighbor’s kind gesture to drive him to school.
Speaking to queries from the state media, a Ministry of Education (MOE) spokesperson said no candidates will be disadvantaged or penalized for being late if their delay was caused by the disruption.
However, it is not known if the delay may have caused frayed nerves among the students and affect their performance during the oral examination.
The student who missed the oral examination was arranged to take the examination on another day.
Though SBS Transit ‘apologized’ for the latest screw-up, it reminded commuters that it offered free shuttle bus services only out of ‘goodwill’ as it had no obligation to do so as the trains were ‘only’ delayed.
