Nokia N8 launching in Singapore soon

This phone will sell for its camera - 12 MP, 4000x3000 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, Xenon flash, FREE Navigation Maps, saves you hundreds and TV-out (720p video) via HDMI with Dolby Digital Plus sound. Anyone remember the N82? Its camera whack the hell out of all competitors at that time.

If you only need a phone that rings, you don't need to spend more than $80

Maybe Sam does not subscribe to any phone plan. He just use prepaid card. So he must buy a phone w/o contract?

:D:D

For me, is either Nokia N8 for Samsung Galaxy S

Galaxy S with Android 2.2 and AMOLED is the state of the art phone for now. This phone is amazingly fast. Winamp app for Android is out on the Market.

Problem is the Galaxy S still not on Andriod 2.2 yet. Samsung kept postponing it.

:(

2.2 coming soon before next year... development delayed due to a bug

iphone is king of smartphone
nokia should stick to cheap and easy simple phone
and the very expensive luxury phone
middle ground taken by apple.

The "very expensive luxury phone" title is owned by Vertu.

The Desire HD CPU is a bit slower than Samsung Galaxy S humming bird. But it it said to be energy efficient. Another selling point on the N8 is the use of USB to go. It means you plug in your media on the USB and the phone can read and play its contents or project to LCD TV. Good for Opposition to project shows on the go, hahaha...

Yeah, looks good.

But Bro, but this phone heavier than Galaxy S 105gm and Nokia 135gm!!

Yes it's certain bery much heavier in term of %...but u b surprise, btn 4 and 4.3in...0.3 in make quite abit of difference...guess a price to pay if u gonna surf n watch movies regularly on ur HP...:D:D

Time for Nokia to go into an alliance with another phone maker like Sony-Ericsson. Nokia-Samsung? Nokia-LG?

Seriously, it's too little too late for them now.

Both Sony and Ericsson phones were dead before the marriage. They became one of the best phone makers in the market. And no, SE is definitely not dead. Their range of products run on both symbian and android. My next phone will be the x10 mini pro.

Good luck on your next phone, SE is notorious for hanged OS. I can only see HTC, iPhone and probably Samsung in the future :p:p

HTC will be around for a long time becos they are the main supplier for touch screens. Even if their phones fail in the market, they will still supply to iphones and other competitors.

SE has been a major player and will continue to be so now that they are going on Android. They have the best design and are very popular with young people.

Nokia is still the largest phone maker in the world by a large margin and they are still making profits. Many developers are on the Symbian bandwagon too. Angry birds had just been released on the Symbian^3 platform.

N8 will sell on its;
• 12 mega-pixel camera with Xenon flash (its fast)
• Free voice navigation map
• USB on-the-go and HDMI output with divX and XivD support out of the box, makes it a portable media player you carry all the time
• Excellent build quality
• RDS radio and radio transmitter
• Great audio quality

The bad
• Touchscreen UI still needs improvement, had to wait for MeeGo
• Browser not good
• No video light
• Stupid battery no user-replaceable
• Should have QuickOffice included
